Skin barrier

A stable skin barrier is the goal of Korean "skin barrier" care: ceramides, cholesterol, panthenol and centella support skin that feels tight, red or reactive. This selection also works as a reset after too many active ingredients.

Guide: Skin barrier

How to recognise a weakened skin barrier

Typical signs are tightness, redness, stinging from familiar products, dry patches alongside shine and a dull complexion. Common triggers are too many acids or retinol, hot water, harsh cleansers, cold and dry heated air.

The barrier routine

  1. Gentle, pH-balanced cleansing; in the morning only water.
  2. Soothing toner with centella or panthenol.
  3. Serum with beta-glucan, madecassoside or panthenol.
  4. Cream with ceramides, cholesterol and fatty acids.
  5. In the morning, mineral or hybrid sunscreen.
  6. Pause acids and retinol for two to four weeks.
