Guide: PDRN

What is PDRN?

PDRN stands for polydeoxyribonucleotide, a mixture of short DNA fragments. It was originally obtained from salmon milt; many Korean brands now also use vegan PDRN from plants or micro-organisms. In cosmetics, PDRN is considered a moisture-binding, skin-soothing ingredient that supports a smooth, rested complexion. Medical use by injection is a separate matter and not what is meant here.

  • Anua PDRN Hyaluronic Acid Capsule Serum: a light serum with PDRN and hyaluronic acid for hydration.
  • Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum: PDRN combined with peptides and niacinamide for glow and elasticity.

Use and combinations

PDRN serums are applied morning and evening after the toner and pair with niacinamide, peptides and centella. As a "medicosmetic" ingredient, PDRN is mild and suitable for sensitive skin. Explained in detail: PDRN in skincare.
