Guide: Heartleaf

What heartleaf does in skincare

Houttuynia cordata, eoseongcho in Korean, has long been used in traditional care. The extract contains flavonoids such as quercetin and has a cosmetically soothing, balancing and clarifying effect. It suits oily, blemish-prone and at the same time sensitive skin that reacts to stronger actives with redness.

Heartleaf classics

  • Anua Heartleaf 77 % Soothing Toner: soothing toner with 77 percent heartleaf extract.
  • Anua Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil: cleansing oil for pores and sunscreen residue.
  • Heartleaf serums and creams: light textures for daily soothing.

Combinations

Heartleaf pairs with niacinamide and BHA in routines for blemishes and with centella for soothing.

Frequently asked questions

Above all for oily, combination and blemish-prone skin that is sensitive at the same time. Dry skin combines heartleaf with richer care.

Heartleaf or centella?

Both soothe. Heartleaf is more clarifying and for blemish-prone skin, centella more barrier-strengthening and for irritated, dry skin. Many routines use both.
