How niacinamide works
Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 that is well studied. In cosmetic concentrations of two to five percent it supports the skin barrier, visibly reduces shine and pores and helps with an uneven complexion and dark spots. Higher concentrations rarely add more and can irritate sensitive skin.
Combining
Niacinamide goes with almost anything: hyaluronic acid, centella, BHA, retinol and also vitamin C derivatives. The old advice to keep niacinamide and vitamin C apart is considered outdated with modern formulations.
How to use
Morning and evening after the toner, followed by cream and, in the morning, sunscreen. Products with tranexamic acid or arbutin strengthen the effect on dark spots.
